A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE: HYDROGEN ENGINES

The automotive industry is continually exploring alternative fuel sources to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate environment impact. Among these alternatives, hydrogen engines have emerged as a promising solution, offering a plethora of benefits that could revolutionize the way we travel.

 

The benefits of hydrogen powered vehicles

Hydrogen can be produced through various renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric, wind and solar power, making it renewable energy carrier.

Unlike traditional internal combustion engines that rely on fossil fuels, hydrogen engines produce zero harmful emissions. The only by product of hydrogen combustion is water vapor, making it an environmentally friendly option that helps combat air pollution and reduce greenhouse gas emissions which in turn, mitigates climate change.

Hydrogen engines are highly efficient, offering better energy conversion rates compared to traditional combustion engines. This increased efficiency translates into improved fuel economy, ultimately reducing the overall energy consumption of vehicles and enhancing their range.

Hydrogen fuel can be used in various types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses and even trains. This versatility makes hydrogen engines a viable option for a wide range of transportation applications. Hydrogen infrastructure can also be scaled up to meet the growing demand, offering a flexible solution for future transportation needs.

One of the major drawbacks of electric vehicles(EVs) is their relatively long charging times. In contrast, hydrogen-powered vehicles can be re-fuelled quickly, compared to the time it takes to refuel a conventional gasoline car. A car would take around 3-5 minutes whilst a truck could be filled within 15 minutes. This rapid refuelling capability makes hydrogen engines more practical for everyday use and long-distance travel.

The transition to hydrogen-powered transportation drives innovation in this space and could also create new job opportunities in sectors such as hydrogen production, infrastructure development, and fuel cell technology, which will foster economic growth and driving advancements in clean energy technologies.

 

The Hyorc Engine

We’ve developed a revolutionary heavy-duty vehicle engine powered by a combination of hydrogen gas and our patented Organic Rankine Cycle(ORC) Turbine.

Our engine, HyOrc, is manufactured at a much lower cost to hydrogen fuel cells and will be around 75% cheaper than current offerings.

The new engine doesn’t require the rare and sophisticated conflict minerals that Electric Vehicles(EVs) do. It also separates on 97% H2 purity, saving huge costs in operation. We’re currently in the development phase and soon, HyOrc will be used to power heavy-duty trucks and trains around the world, ushering in an era of affordable, highly sustainable transportation and travel.
